BEFORE YOU GO FOR THAT INTERVIEW

People work hard to develop skills that can fetch them a good job. Candidates see to it that they satisfy all educational requirements and other essentials for a job. Well, this is a good thing and
also incidentally the most important thing that can land you a position. Aside from these, there is another important thing that plays a significant part, and that is the "job hunting" that you do. If done well, it has the potential to place you in your dream company. On the contrary, if it's done poorly, you may have to make do with a less desirable job for the foreseeable future.
To avoid that unhappy scenario, It is essential that you eliminate critical errors that can screw your chances. List below are three of the most common job hunting mistakes people do.
Insufficient research done on the company you want to enter: No job provider will like a prospective employee with zero knowledge of the company. Understand that a job vacancy arises because the job provider has a certain need. Know exactly what that need is. Only then can you put yourself forward as the best candidate who can fulfill that need.
Failing to go beyond advertisements: The vast majority of people tend to react to only job advertisements. They go through daily advertisements, doing what is called 'job hunting'. But as a matter of fact, less than 30% of job vacancies are actually being advertised. If you limit yourself to only advertisements, you are going to miss out on a lot of other opportunities not presented through that medium.
You may now be wondering about what else you can do in a job hunting process. Approach a company which you wish to work in. Show your skills and willingness to work in the company. Managers are glad to find eligible candidates. This approach has worked for many and can certainly work for you too.
Failing to do get involved in appropriate networking: When you apply for a job, you are not the only one to do so. The hirer gets several job applications and yours is only just one among them. If you believe that the hirer will take the pain to scan through all the applications and select the best candidate, sorry, but that isn't happening in real life.
Your application should be recognizable distinctly, and the best way to do so is by getting a referral. This way your resume will have greater chances to be considered. So, while doing 'job hunting' you can use your personal contacts or networking websites to find someone who knows the company.
Take note of these job hunting mistakes and make sure you don't make them!
Are you kidding me?
90% of the common and average jobseekers will never take action towards changing the way the look for jobs, despite being rejected time after time.
