company for the recruitment of an Onshore Referrent Engineer.

Job Description: The responsibilities for this position shall include training of all offshore engineers and inspection & maintenance of vessels.

Responsibilities:

Ø  Train all Nigerian engineers in line with company’s approved training programs, in class onboard vessels.

Ø  Train and follow up on new engineers under training process

Ø  Train regularly existing engineers for refreshing

Ø  Train especially but do not limit to: safety, drills, maintenance, log books, procedures and documentation.

Ø  Train engineers at the base at workshop

Ø  Assess all engineers in line with company’s procedures.

Ø  Visit vessels offshore to assess performance of engineers on the job.

Ø  Identify people who need more urgently in-house training to organize sessions.

Ø  Participate in identifying people needing external training.

Ø  Inspects boats at arrival at  base and assist with maintenance

Ø  Participate in analyzing incidents and improving human performance onboard.

Ø  Inform Master training center about assessment progress (individual assessments results and progress in assessing all crews).

Ø  Promote safe and clean environment, onboard and at the base, at all times.

Ø  Promote spirit of continuing improvement of skills and performance

Ø  Acts as a team player in the training team

Ø  Communicate with Master training center on training strategies and lesson sharing.

Ø  Link as training team with Master training center for recommendations on posting.

Qualifications and Experience:

Ø  Possess Marine Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency

Ø  Minimum of 5-8yrs seatime experience in the marine industry

Ø  A previous experience in a similar position will be a plus

Ø  Possess a valid International passport

Ø  Possess a valid yellow card

Ø  Possess a valid medical certificate

Ø  Must be registered as a seafarer with NIMASA

Ø  Possession of relevant additional qualification will be an added advantage
